Triple-glazed caramel bacon is a decadent treat that combines the smoky, salty flavor of bacon with the sweet richness of caramel sauce.
Ingredients:
1 pound thick-cut bacon
1 cup Coop's salted caramel sauce
Recipe:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Bacon:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Arrange the thick-cut bacon slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure the bacon slices do not overlap.
3. First Glaze:
Using a pastry brush, generously brush the caramel sauce over the top side of the bacon slices. Be sure to coat them evenly.
4. Bake:
Place the baking sheet with the caramel-coated bacon in the preheated oven.
5. Monitor and Glaze:
Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes or until the bacon starts to become slightly crispy.
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Flip the bacon slices over.
Brush more caramel sauce onto the other side of the bacon slices.
6. Second Glaze:
Return the baking sheet to the oven and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the bacon reaches your desired level of crispiness. The caramel sauce should become sticky and caramelized.
7. Third Glaze:
Remove the baking sheet from the oven one more time. Brush or drizzle additional caramel sauce over the bacon slices.
8. Finish Baking:
Place the baking sheet back in the oven for a final 5-10 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy, caramelized, and the caramel sauce has formed a triple-glazed coating.
9. Cool and Serve:
Allow the caramel-glazed bacon to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. The caramel will harden as it cools, creating a delightful crunch.
Carefully transfer the caramel bacon to a serving platter, and let it cool completely before serving. The bacon will be both sweet and savory, with a crispy caramel shell.
